According to Global Tracking Technology’s website, they
have invented a tracking product SC2 that is highly configurable to accurately
track and oversee land, marine and tactical assets operating in the most
isolated, dangerous or challenging of environments. SC2 is hardwired to the
asset and integrates advanced mobile technology to yield accurate positional
and management information to within two metres worldwide. It provides
diversified clients with the most economical satellite solution available for
both fixed and mobile applications. Apart from tracking and monitoring any
assets instantaneously, it also provides security features. Clients chose SC2 as
it is easy to install on their applications, require low maintenance and
long-life solutions. SC2 provides web-based solution for clients to
easily access and an overview of their assets via internet connection globally.
SC2 is
selected over the common container tracking devices such as Tetis and Trackingapack
due to the extra security features that SC2 provide which is not found in the
two products as mentioned. From Global Tracking Technology’s website, SC2
offers various sorts of application such as “container tracking and integration
with container tracking software”, “asset security”, “ship and boat tracking
and security”, “buoy tracking”, “barge tracking”, “machinery tracking and
security”. All these features can not only help to track the accurate movement
of various containers but also ensure that the containers can arrive to their
destinations safely by transports which operates either on land or ocean. As
opposed to Trackingapack, from the Trackingapack’s website, it only states that
it will trigger the sirens if there is slight intrusion. Unlike Trackingapack’s
features, according to Tetis’s website, it states that its products can
“provide fact reports in any event of cargo’s loss and theft”. All these
features as mentioned above for the two products are also present in SC2 as
stated in the Global Tracking Technology’s website. The true selling point of
the SC2 as opposed to both Trackingapack and Tetis, as stated in Global
Tracking Technology’s website, SC2 utilises satellite tracking. Satellite
communication has a farther range and thus has a higher location accuracy as
compared to that of cellular LBS system and proximity RFID tag. This key
feature has conclusively made SC2 more outstanding in contrast with
Trackingapack and Tetis.
Overall,
SC2 can track containers more accurately than most products due to the usage of
satellite communications and multiple types of tracking such as buoy, barge and
machinery tracking. It is also equipped with security features such as built in
internal sensor which helps to “manage security concerns when high value assets
are at risk” and external sensors which “provides additional capabilities to
meet the demands of real-time security, alarm reporting and asset conditions”. SC2
would thus stand out more than most products and be a more sensible choice when
it comes to choosing a hardware for asset tracking and security.
